Joshua Allen joined First Christian Church as Director of Education in 2005. He grew up in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where his parents teach public school. In June 2005, Josh graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in music and a minor in history. While at MU, he participated in the University Philharmonic Orchestra, University Singers, Mizzou Horn Choir, and Marching Mizzou. He also served as choir director for a United Methodist congregation in Centralia, Missouri.

Josh currently attends Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, where he is preparing for eventual ordination as an elder in the United Methodist Church. In addition to his studies, Josh enjoys recreational reading and outdoor activities. He is a certified SCUBA diver, an interested and improving cook and gardener, and an enthusiastic St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
